Payment

The Map Shop distinguishes between projects that are fee-based and those that we can provide non-fee based. Fee-based projects include those that require student employment for the completion of the project, and staff time for managing data curation, storage, and provision. Non-fee-based projects are typically those that involve assisting instructors in the classroom, assisting researchers with developing ideas about utilizing mapping in their projects, and developing products as part of community outreach.

The Map Shop staff will consult with partners to first determine if work is fee-based or non-fee-based and if the former, decide on a pricing agreement for the project. For both types of projects, the terms of the agreement will be written and signed by the Map Shop and the partner before any work can commence.
