Geography Awareness Week

Geography Awareness Week (GAW) is a nationwide celebration sponsored by the National Geographic Society. 

This event was established to address the lack of geographic knowledge and to emphasize the importance of understanding our world​​. The idea was to enhance geographic literacy and foster a greater appreciation for geography as a discipline.
